Track on two knitting needles without seam: 6 workshops (video)
Warm and cozy tracks are a real find for the home. This is a great alternative to slippers, because they do not fall off your feet and warm much better. They can comfortably climb onto the sofa or even go to bed when it gets colder again. And what a delight the children are in them! We have prepared for you 6 videos of master classes on how to knit seamless tracks and just two knitting needles!
1. Seamless track for beginners
This is the simplest model with which you can begin to comprehend the basics of knitting tracks. But at the same time, it is practical and versatile, so walking in them is very convenient. Based on this master class, in the future you will be able to create more complex variations with interesting patterns.
Take a skein of acrylic or acrylic-wool threads 250/100 g, number 3 knitting needles and markers for convenience. To accurately calculate your number of loops, knit a small fragment of the front surface and calculate how many pieces fit in a centimeter.
In the video you will find all the formulas for calculating the length, width, height of the toe and other parameters. Work starts from the top - the so-called bar. Both the front and the back side are tied with a regular front viscous. Lastly, make a heel along the edge loops to do without seams.
2. Striped jacquard prints
For such tracks, a rectangle narrowed in the area of the toe is tied. The cap will need to be pulled down and connected to the desired landing depth for your rise, and so that it is convenient for you. There will be no seam on the sole, so it does not rub, does not crush and does not cause inconvenience.
You will need two skeins of thread 200/50 g of different colors and number 4 knitting needles. It is more convenient and faster to knit in two additions, and the tracks will be denser, warmer and more durable. For size 36-37, you need a canvas 19 cm high and 20 cm wide, of which 5 cm goes to the toe.
On such sizes, density and type of thread, dial 48 loops and leave the tail more authentic. You then use it to connect the toe. The pattern fits in this way: 3 front loops, 1 loop to remove and stretch the thread behind it. Do not tie 12 loops to the end of the canvas - this will be your sock, which you will later pull off.
3. Footprints with a pattern and a decorative heel
The first thing that catches your eye is a beautiful sock with an unusual pattern that resembles lacing. It is complemented by a spectacular textured heel without a single seam and bumps. Smooth sole very quickly and easily fit and does not interfere while walking.
For two tracks you will need incomplete two skeins of yarn 220-240 / 100 g in two additions on knitting needles number 3-3.25. Finished tracks last well, so keep that in mind when calculating size. For size 38-39, you will need 44 loops, which first need to be knit in two rows of faces.
After that, start making increments in the video so that the track fits well on the leg. In the process, you will clearly form a sole made with the usual smooth viscous. Be sure to pay attention to how to form the heel - for this you will combine your working loops with the finished edges.
4. Footprints with a geometric pattern
This is a rather large master class, but don’t be scared, because its charm is that you will see the whole work process from beginning to end. Therefore, you can simply leave the video in the background and peek into it in any situation, if it seems to you that something went wrong.
For such beautiful geometric tracks, you need acrylic yarn of approximately 315/100 g in two colors and number 3 knitting needles. The upper part is knitted with one fabric, and the sole and back are separately. Thanks to this, you will not have an uncomfortable seam on the foot, which always rubs and causes discomfort.
For a track with a sole length of 23-24 cm, dial 61 loops and knit the first 10 rows with an ordinary scarf. After that, change the color and begin to knit the pattern according to the detailed instructions in the video. Then, to knit the backdrop, type loops along the side edge of the same canvas and continue.
5. Openwork traces
This is a beautiful patterned model with an openwork pattern, but it is also easy to deal with! To do this, you will need acrylic yarn 200/50 g in one thread on number 3 knitting needles. Two such beautiful decorative footprints can be made literally in one day for any occasion.
For size 37, first dial 26 loops and knit with a regular garter stitch. In the video you will find a detailed diagram of the pattern both in the form of a drawing, and in the process of work. A neat toe and heel are obtained by picking up the side edges on the knitting needles.
6. Pigtail tracks
When tired of simple smooth tracks, this model with a textured pigtail will surely please you. Despite the presence of the pattern, making them is not particularly difficult than regular smooth ones. To do this, just follow the weaving of the picture on the video - and you will surely succeed!
Yarn 240/100 g is well suited, and so that the tracks are even softer and more comfortable, choose acrylic threads from special children's series. Calculate the density of knitting with your thread - the number of loops is 1 or 10 cm vertically and horizontally.
The optimal length of the sole is 23.5 cm for 37 and or 24 cm for 38 sizes, but remember that the knit stretches well. And so that it is stronger and denser, knit in two addition with number 3 knitting needles.
